Okay, so what is the prophetic point of
view. It is the gift of God to speak the truth and word of God
to his people. It is one of the five ministry gifts pointed out
in Ephesians

You'll notice that nowhere in that
statement does it say anything about telling the future. Future
prophesy has ended with the book of revelation and an warning in
that book.
Revelation 22: 18 For I testify to everyone
who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds
to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are
written in this book; 19 and if anyone takes away from the words
of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from
the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which
are written in this book
The time for forecasting the future is
over, a new testament prophet's duties are:
To preach the Word of God, in season and
out, when it's popular and when it's not, especially to the
foundering or wayward Christian
To promote the truth, no matter how
unfashionable, or unpopular.
To stand against the popular tide of
complacency and compromise in the things of God.
These attributes you will find in common
with many Old Testament prophets. We are the party poopers, the
sticks in the mud. We are the rock in the river, that while the
world rushes by we stand resolute, causing a splash and
hopefully diverting some of the sheep, who made it in the
wolves.
You are free to judge me and find me
wanting, I do it everyday. But if you ever see me vary from the
heart truth of God, please let me know.
